    Genuine part but very expensive

    This part fitted and worked perfect but the price is expensive and if I had to pay labour costs it would not be a cost effective procedure This is the only Hitachi 18v tool I have so if it was not repaired I would have several batteries (post type) which would have become redundant as there are few post type tools left in the Hitachi range after they switched to the slide type As a replacement you can't go better than genuine and as a trade tool Hitachi is probably one of the best but for the DIY person there are cheaper options available where you would toss the tool and just buy a new one
