Camera documentation was a nightmare. The GPS receiver does not actually 'receive' the RF signal from the camera transmitter, as shown in the ads. To do this you need the special 'BC-30' 'cigarette lighter' power cord/receiver pack assy. When I FINALLY got the P/N for the special power cord from Garmin tech support, the system came up intuitively. The image from the camera is disappointing, in that it seems to use a 'fish-eye' lens, which yields a circular image of what is behind the vehicle. It seems fine to back a vehicle straight toward an object 100' away, but when the object gets into the near-field, perspective is lost. As an 'add on' to the GPS display, it is better than backing into stuff (I've heard that 'people' do). The installation was straight forward and amounted to finding and connecting to the back-up wiring and routing the cables along the vehicle frame. (The Garmin literature all contains the caveat that "we recommend professional installation". After working with the system, I believe that really means "Garmin's configuration management and nomenclatures are not well documented for the average consumer".)Read full review

This camera has huge blurred area in the center of the frame. This effectively obscures the main area you are trying to see. Nearly totally useless. Very disappointed.

Works great with my Garmin DriveAssist 50LMT Portable GPS w/ Built-In Dash Cam. But this is a add-on camera so if you do not have a Garmin BC 30 receiver power cable, then you will have to buy one. If you have the receiver power cord then it will hook up with ease. It has great video and was easy to install on my 2011 Malibu. This makes backing up so much easier without taking the time to move both side mirrors down to see and then back up to drive.

Works as advertised with Garmin GPS. Decent picture. Didn't realize also need special cable to plug into accessory outlet in car to make it all work. Expensive venture when all is said and done. Installing can be a bit of a challenge depending on your car. Be prepared to drill a hole or two. Calibrating is also a bit dodgy. Go find a parking lot somewhere and spend some time but it can be done.

I purchased the camera to be used with a Desl 760LT. It's not a plug and play! I needed to purchase more hardware than I wanted to. If you want to add a wireless cam to you GPS -- DO YOUR HOMEWORK! I'm in over what I had originally wanted to spend on a backup camera setup.
