These are indeed solid little cameras for the price, both in terms of construction and performance. On the positive side are the compact size and light weight (truly a grab-n-go "pocket camera"), the fairly rich still photo menu (besides a good point-and-shoot auto, the camera offers a good variety of specialty settings), the decent resolution (more than good enough for snapshots or for display on a 4k video screen), and the sealed body which renders it nearly impervious to high humidity, water splatter, mud, dust and other environmental hazards. The camera will operate underwater to standard "snorkeling depths" and has on-board modes for blue/red correction. The HD videos are decent, though the sound is only monaural. Sound is recorded when submerged, letting you hear popcorn shrimp popping, whales singing, you screaming in panic at approaching sharks, etc. The monitor screen is fairly large and well contrasted, though in bright sunlight, as with many cameras, it tends to not be easy to see. There is no integral GPS, but you can get GPS tagging using the WiFi with a phone or tablet. On the negative side I would put the odd off-center placement of the lens aperture an issue - it can take a little getting used to (fingers have a habit of wandering into view if you're used to a camera with a center aperture). The WiFi is also a bit wobbly (my experience). It tends to freeze or disconnect randomly at times, though I must admit I didn't use the WiFi nearly that much to operate the camera and the fault might have been more in my hardware than in Fuji's. One final gripe I had with my XP80 was that the body paint coating flaked off (without abuse - it just delaminated). While that didn't affect the quality of the photography or videography., it was a little annoying. I like my equipment to look like I've taken care of it! So, overall I give this little camera a good grade for delivering what the user pays for - and maybe a tad more.Read full review

Its great!!!!!!! I use it for work. Sometimes I drop it. It takes a licking and keeps on ticking! I also very much like that the lens is stationary and does not move. I take 400 photos a day which used to kill all my past digital cameras that had lenses which moved in and out.

I bought this camera for a cruise and we took a tour that was underwater...and the pictures were as clear out of the water as they were above the water...
