Works great. Holds more than 5 gal. pail of apples before they are ground up. Had to make two more spacers to get all the juice. no big deal

This is the press we bought because it was in our price range and we had apples that needed used. It did not have much as far as directions and we had to make a stand for it to sit on. it is heavy when trying to lift it to empty it and you can only fill it once, press then empty it again. It worked well after puting it together and is worth the price if you only have a small amount of apples or other fruit to do.

The design is faulty. It presses only the top portion of the cylinder, the screw which comes with oil/grease is exposed to the grapes when pressing, the design should be that the screw is out of the grapes and a hard plate should be pressed down on top of the grapes, with the screw above the plate. The wooden section is not held in place - I really don't like it at all. I have an old 1.5 gallon press and wanted this to replace that one, but in the end I used the old one. It looks good, that's all - maybe good for a lawn ornament.

The center screw design is effective, but far from the best. The mesh bag must be cut to fit over the center screw, and so weakens the bottom stitching ;the otherwise good bag will not last long after after this modification. The grinder is satisfactory. If your budget allows, purchase a press with exterior screws. Assembly of slats to metal rings is required, did not see this in the product description

We just opened the box on Christmas, so we haven't assembled it yet, never mind try it. Looking forward to making some unique wines.
