Premium_Carparts1 shipped the same day I placed the order. Because I'm 2 hours away, I received it the next day.My mechanic was shocked that I received a brand new part for the price I paid. It fit my 2009 Kia perfectly even though the 2009 was listed as a possibility in this auction. Packed and shipped perfectly. 10 for 10.

    Easy Install

After a little research I decided to put a Spartan "lunchbox" locker in the front Dana 30 of my 06 TJ. There are several install videos on youtube, so with about 20 minutes of study I was all set. I pulled the axles and removed the diff cover. I followed the instructions and installed the locker. The components seemed well made and stout. I had to fiddle a little to get the locker sections in the carrier. I tried inserting one end first and couldn't get the second half in. I switched and tried the other end first and the second half slipped right in. For about 30 seconds I didn't think it was going to fit and then it just slipped right in. I haven't had a chance to try it 4x4ing, but with normal on-road driving I have not seen any issues. I haven't noticed any locking on turns or ...

  • Straight forward install & a great price!

I just installed this in my 2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ last weekend. With the help of numerous Youtube videos the install was simple. I'd highly suggest changing your inner axle seals during the process as well. Total install time was around 6-7 hours, but that included changing the seals, thoroughly cleaning the tube, knuckles, rotors, and installing new axle shafts and Timken unit bearings. I'd estimate if this is simply a locker install, you could be in and out in about 3-4 hours with basic tools in your garage. I don't hear any clicking when my 4WD ins't engaged, and no changes to steering. Steering is much different with the locker engaged, so do a little test driving in both 4HI and 4LOW before taking it out for real time use. Even in 4WD I don't get a ton of clicking unless I'm taking a ...

  • Less parts makes it easy to install!

I had a powertrax unit in my front differential but it became noisy would not lock up at times giving one wheel performance up front. I had to rebuild it with a new spring overhaul kit twice in two years. I’m trying this Spartan at a friend’s recommendation. Is has less moving parts and less springs to break. So far I am very pleased with its performance.

  • Easier to install than others

Less springs, larger diameter pins, and beefier design make this a better and cheaper choice than Lock-Right lockers. These are just engineered better to take on larger tires and off road, that PowerTrax lockers just cannot handle. I wish the guy that owned the Jeep before me knew this, so please don't make the same mistake. I hope this helps and thank you for reading. Good luck!

  • Front locker for Jeep TJ

I've driven Jeeps with rear lunchbox lockers, they give awesome traction off road, but are pretty ill handling on the road. The front locker is invisible on the road, I haven't even heard a click, and it's always free wheeling in 2wd. Off road traction is greatly improved. I don't think there is a downside to a front lunchbox in a Jeep, it may be a little squirrelly in the snow, but I haven't driven it yet in snow. Off road, it's worlds better than open diffs, but probably not quite as good as a rear locker, but on road, the front is far better. If you are only doing one on a daily driver, I'd definitely do the front. If you're only doing one on a dedicated trail Jeep, I'd do the rear.
