As a long time fan of TLC's What Not to Wear and as someone who has heard Clinton Kelly speak in person twice, I have always enjoyed his wit and wisdom when it comes to fashion. What makes this book so much fun is that his wit and wisdom are not limited to just fashion. Freakin' Fabulous is divided into 7 different sections: Dress, Speak, Behave, Eat, Drink, Entertain, and Decorate, and Kelly serves up some great tips on how to do each "better than everyone else." From the basics of dressing certain body types to dangling modifiers, drink & food recipes to picture hanging rules, Kelly provides helpful hints with a bit of cheeky commentary that even made my husband laugh. An easy read, Freakin' Fabulous is, well, Freakin' Fabulous.
This is a rare gem, useful for women, who are confused about the do's and don'ts of fashion. In this book Clinton Kelly not only explores the fashion world, but also covers etiquette and good public manners that most of the time tends to be overlooked. I love how Freakin' Fabulous is written in a straight-forward, humorous manner. Clinton's use of words is sassy, colorful and will educate you as much as make you laugh. Freakin' Fabulous is the perfect book for those, who wish to improve their fashion sense as well as their social skills. It's a must-have for those of us who want to learn the essential skills of how to dress, talk and behave well in any situation!!!
If you love Clinton from What Not to Wear, you will love his perspective on how to entertain, speak and conduct yourself as well. I thought being raised by one of the last great ladies of our time there is nothing me to learn from this book, I would jst enjoy and pass it on. I was wrong! Clinton taught me a thing or two, and his writing is so cheeky you will find yourself laughing on every page. I thought I might pass my copy on, but now I buy this a ship it to friends and family as I know everyone will have something to learn, gain or just enjoy from reading Freakin' Fabulous!!
As always, Clinton Kelly keeps you laughing hysterically while giving you the fine points of everyday and special event clothing and etiquette. He is a combination of the Fashion Police and Emily Post, but with a wry and brilliant twist. The Noel Coward of our generation. This book is a must have! Just for the sheer entertainment value, but also for the wisdom contained within. Superb!
I bought Clinton Kelly's book "Freakin'Fabulous..." because I'm a huge fan of the TV show What Not to Wear, and I really like Clinton's sense of humor. This book is very funny -I was laughing out loud a lot of the time. But it's also very interesting reading, and it's filled with good tips on etiquette, fashion, entertaining and decorating. I'm very happy with my purchase!
