The Foscam FI9828P seems to be the best value out there for an outdoor, PTZ, optical zoon, IR, wireless camera. Simple to configure (some basic wireless skills, and you will be fine). You just can't find these features on a 960P camera anywhere near this price. The only thing I wish that had was a wider lens (90 degrees) to cover more static area. Otherwise a great deal!

I purchased five of the FI9928P cameras over the past year or so. Unfortunately one of them has recently failed. It will not power up at all. The power supply has been tested on other cameras so I am sure the problem is isolated to being in the camera itself. Until this recent problem I have been very happy with them. The performance and ease of setup is very good. One negative is that I had to quit using Firefox and now use Pale Moon exclusively for the FI9928P cameras because of issues with IPC Web Components plugin no longer being compatible with them in Firefox and in later versions of Pale Moon. This has been a long time known problem and Foscam still hasn't come up with an acceptable fully working solution. If you have more than one Foscam camera their app software will not allow you show multiple cameras in one window. Pale Moon version 37.3.0 still allows you to display multi cameras but the newer versions will not. While this is very annoying I still like the camera. I hope that someday soon a real solution is found that will permit me to use Firefox with them again. As long as you are aware of the compatibility issue and willing to do as I am "putting up with it" I would recommend the FI9928P. As for the failure of the one camera, I hope that it was only a fluke and not something that is likely to happen again. I have owned many other model Foscam cameras and only one other had a failure. This Foscam FI9928 HD Web camera is a nice complete outdoor security Camera that just needs to be screwed to a wall or post. The picture quality is excellent and has full Pan Tilt and Optical Zoom capabilities along with an excellent night vision option. Once it is Upgraded to the latest Firmware (1.11.1.13) it even works on the latetest MacOS Mojave and Safari 12 without the use of special plug-ins. I prefer the direct wired network ethernet option and have not tested the WiFi capabilities. It also works with the Foscam Pro App on IOS devices (with router port forwarding setup).
