The powersteering cylinder that came with my Ford 3600 tractor has a very small elbow that cracked under stress. It seemed a weld wouldn't be enough. Thankfully this product was well priced and the old design flaw was fixed with a much beefier threaded elbow. It installed perfectly, works great, and is a perfect match for my power steering which still has the original cylinder installed on the other side. I will replace the other one if the same thing breaks with this newer design. I gave the item four stars because a few days after installing the cylinder housing immediately began showing rust. It was an assumption of mine that the cylinder was at least primer coated with something resistant to corrosion. I had to remove the item, thoroughly clean it to repaint it and reintstall it. A shame there was no indication that painting was required for rust prevention. I will buy again and recommend this to a friend.Read full review

Installed this1/2" rod cylinder which should have been good enough (1/2", the others are 5/8") but in order for 2/1" to be adequate, the rod MUST BE TEMPERED. this one is not. Lasted 45minutes the tractor checked for all other issues that might cause a 'good rod to bend, but being told that the rod was so flimsy that I could bend it (had to straighten it for my 8 yr old rancher to have PS) by HAND. The Chinese one I bought for the other side is a better unit!! DO NOT BUY THIS JUNK.

Bought this to replace a leaking stock 5/8 cylinder with a messed up rod on one side of my Ford 3600. Someone had already replaced the other side with a 1/2 inch cylinder which was good and wasn't leaking. If I went back to the stock 5/8 cylinders I would have had to buy two so chose to take the chance and go with 1/2 inch rod cylinders on both sides. This knowing my Ford 3000 has 1/2 inch cylinders and they have worked great for over 50 years. Pretty obvious the cylinder as received is just raw metal and needs to be painted. I painted the cylinder before installing it with blue Rustoleum which surprisingly matched the Ford blue pretty close. After getting it installed, ran the tractor through it's paces all over the property going lock to lock on the steering to be sure the cylinder was purged of air. Worked great and corrected some issues I was having with steering that I am sure related to having two different sized cylinders. Happy camper and if I ever need to replace any more I won't hesitate to buy another just like this.Read full review

Bent the first time I turned the steering wheel. The rod is soft and bends easily. Has not been hardened. Purchased one from another company and it works perfectly.
