      Excellent tools

      I have a number of Flexcut tools. Every one, including this set, is excellent. This set has enough different shapes to do probably 90% of your gouge cuts. I would have rated it 5 Stars except for having only one handle, thus requiring a change when changing tool shapes. Multiple, individual handled gouges would be more efficient, but would be much more costly. This is an excellent value and a top performing set of tools. I highly recommend this tool set.

      Flexcut Palm carving set

      Very dangerous can only use with one hand when using. Handles move side to side after only one seem of use. If you make stop cut handle pulls off when pulling up on tool. Buy full size set much safer and easier to control, might be more expensive but much safer. I have full size set with same company like day and nite.

      I purchased this carving set after taking a wood carving class at my local Lee Valley. These are a guality tool that allows the carver to have optimum control of the tool when carving. This carving set comes with one handle that allows you to change out which gouge or chisel that you use. It is easy to take with you without being large or bulky. The chisel and gouges come sharpened and ready to use. Whether you are a beginner or seasoned carver, you will not be disappointed with this tool.

      Great value

      These tools come honed to perfection. They are by far the sharpest carving tools I have purchased. It goes to show, you get what you pay for, just remember to hone often because the best way to ensure a sharp bit is to never let them get dull in the first place. With that said, remember to order the sharpening block from Flexcut for these bits, it is a real time saver. I have purchased cheaper tools in the past when just starting out carving, they were not honed to the level these are, and having great tools will help develop skills faster and up your level of enjoyment while carving. I was skeptical that these gouges would be flexible to the point of failure because in the pictures they look very thin and the rubber handle looks like it would not be firm enough to secure the bits. Now ...

      Excellent Carving set

      These are extremely sharp tools. They come ready to use and they hold a RAZOR sharp edge. Outstanding product made here in the USA! I am just starting out as a carver. I have read many comments from carvers that said not to buy a set of tools but just buy what you would need. Well if you are new to the craft, how are you going to know what you need? I bought this set feeling that it would give me a well round set of tools. I am very pleased with my purchase.
