A poor man's roof rails.
Honestly, these were easier to install than I thought they would be; BUT.....you DO need the PDF from Honda to do this properly, since "for some odd reason" these parts don't come with detailed instructions. IMO, they definitely should !!! Removing the existing metal strip isn't bad, but you'll need someone to hold it near the rear of the vehicle as you work forward per instructions online. As someone else mentioned, do NOT cut the metal strip .7".......it'll be short. 1" is perfect. I used a cordless Dremel w/ a cutting wheel & raised the strip with a towel & paint stirring stick to allow the cutting wheel to go into. These rails come with 12 screws to hold the rails down; BUT, they are different sizes & nowhere does it tell you "what goes where", so be extra careful.....the heads of ... For Honda CR-V, you can get instruction from Honda estore, select the year and model and look for "20xx CR-V Roof Rack Rails" (you have to be patient because this website is very slow and you have to repeat until you get to the instruction page). I was confused even with the installation instruction from Honda website. I finally figured out that I had to keep about 6" of the original rail cover by the tailgate in order to make it work (#13 from the instruction). Overall, I am very happy with the product. My only complaint is no useful installation instruction and the holes for crossbar bolts stripped very easily (half of the holes stripped before the bolts are tight).No installation instruction in English and the Chinese version is useless. Good product
Although the rails didn't come with instructions it was pretty easy to figure out. You do have to keep about six inches or so of the old rail near the front of the windshield. Just cut it. The only issue I have is that one side didn't sit flush on the roof. Maybe with time the heat will help it settle. I did purchase crossbars so maybe that will help too. Overall good value for the money.

It is rather disappointing that Honda does not include these rails as the previous model of CRV had them as standard equipment. I found these Chinese made copies to be an excellent value at a fraction of the Honda price. Installation was straight forward and took just over one hour. The colour was a good match to my silver finish. I then purchased an original Honda branded roof rack from an online Honda dealer. This to fitted perfectly to the rails.It is rather disappointing that Honda does not include these rails as the previous model of CRV had them as standard equipment. I found these Chinese made copies to be an excellent value at a fraction of the Honda price. Installation was straight forward and took just over one hour. Roof rack installation
This roof rack was a decent quality and what I expected when I ordered it. The installation, however was difficult. The installation instructions for the rails was in Chinese. The crossbars did not have any instructions at all. The crossbars were very difficult to install and fortunately I had the tools and mechanical knowledge to install them.
