Eric Clapton Signature model. This was the guitar I wanted more then any other when I started to play. In 2002 I got it. It features a Soft V which is weird if your not used to them, Vintage Noiseless pickups, TBX switch, 25 dB midrange boost circuit and vintage hardware. Over all the guitar is really nice, but the first thing that got on my nerves was the fact that they don't put enough sheilding on the back of the pickguard. So if you buy one make sure you get some copper shielding or a sheilding plate to go with it other wise when you touch the pickguard and get any static pop at all from your fingers the electronics will pickup all of it and it sounds horrible on the clean channel. The guitar is great though easy to replace the battery and can go from spanky clean to heavy distortion with the flip of the switch (midrange boost) You can get Gibson sounds or Fender sounds with this if you want, but too much gain makes it feedback uncontrolable. Last the frets are small so it would be nice if they had the bigger frets like on a American standard or something. Overall a great guitar from a great guitar player.Read full review
From the moment I picked up this guitar, tuned it, and started to play, I fell in love. Then I plugged it in, and was rocketed into a new dimension! The sound is incredible, the action on the fretboard is buttery, the weight and look of the instrument is perfect, and I'm finding my playing is not only becoming inspired, but it's so much fun that I lose track of time when playing it. I have other guitars, including my former favorite, a 1957 Gibson ES-225. This is my first true all-electric guitar, and it's like nothing I've ever played before. Had I known how much fun a guitar like this could be, I'd have bought one twenty years ago! But better late than never, right? Cons? None. This is for me, the perfect guitar!

This is truly an incredible product, and well worth the money I paid. The craftsmanship is top-of-line, it looks beautiful (I got the Olympic White color), its extremely versatile with the TBX circuitry and Mid-Boost, and all I can say about the tone is "WOW!!" This is the same guitar Clapton has been using for a few years, just check out his Crossroads festival DVDs to see this guitar in its full glory. I play it through an Orange Tiny Terror and Marshall 1965B 4x10 lead cab, with some stompboxes, and the possibilites are limitless, but its the guitar itself that is amazing. I am a huge fan of Clapton, and this guitar definitely gives you the ability to get a taste of that famous tone.
Great start for the price. The neck has a great feel. I particularly like the special active 25dB midrange boost on one tone control that gives this guitar the extra meat you might expect from a humbucker. In addition, the second tone knob functions as a standard Fender TBX master tone control, which can smoothly go from bright and glossy to dark and smoky by rolling off the highs!

In my opinion, and in 45+ years of playing, I’ve come across two Strats that I rate as excellent and always good players, one is the Eric Clapton Strat the other is Eric Johnson. it’s a hard choice between these two and it comes down to neck profiles and pick up/wiring config’s but I happen to be a big fan of the Clapton Strat set up… Plays great looks great sounds great in the 25 DB boost on board the guitar illuminates the need for a boost pedal on the pedal board. You just cannot go wrong with an Eric Clapton strat.
