This is not a bad car, it can still be competitive on a track or just around a parking lot. Problem is, the shock towers bolt directly onto the diff housing and both are made of plastic, and they break very, very easily. Highly recommend if you buy one of these that you spend an extra buck and get what is called "the fix", which bolsters the diffs and shock towers with stainless. Either that or get aluminum upgrades for both pieces, it's either that or have a good stock of replacement parts on hand. It's definitely a very fast car, once the initial setup is done, it's easy to tune and easy to drive, but those weak parts will leave you spending more time repairing than racing. There are a number of other aluminum upgrades availible if you take your racing seriously or just like having a very durable car, but like others, you can spend the money now or later. Also, if you plan to race it on a track, you may need foam tires to do so, and most tracks only allow a .12 engine, so check with your local club before buying. I especially recommend this car because there are no belts, it's all shaft drive, which is a lot more durable and dependable over time, though belt drive is more efficient and smoother.Read full review
The TC3, in it's time, was top of the line and still has excellent potential in todays world of R/C. It is easy to work on and maintain, sometimes easier is better, parts are still readily availabe at most hobby shops and online (i.e. Ebay). So, to sum it all up, beginers to experts will and do enjoy this car. Associated electronics, gotta love'em
I like the oldschool touring car better then the tc5 and tc6!! Thats just my 2cents!! For as much I run touring the tc3 is just fine, always liked it and always will!! I sold my first tc3 many years ago, sorry I did!! Thats why I bought another one from ebay!! Also bought a vintage body to put on it!! i would take a tc3 over any other touring cars out there!! Thank you!! Ang T
This was my first RC nitro touring car back in the day. Love how the transmission shifts with no drop in RPM. Lots of hop-ups were available, but now they are getting scarce so stock up as I do. I have two of these as shelf queens (brand new) which are heavily modified.
