I recently purchased some clear plastic liners for a wire shelving unit. Unfortunately the liners were just a little too large, but they are still the closest thing I could find. My problem was how to cut them down to size since they're too thick for scissors or exacto blades. I tried a set of heavy duty wire cutters, but it was too much on my hands. So I searched and found this product, the Worx Cordless ZipSnip. This is absolutely the right tool for this job. It cuts quickly and easily. Its rechargeable and can make a lot of cuts before needing to recharge. I highly recommend this tool. It's great for cutting things quickly and easily. Now that I have it I've found other uses for it as well. If you like doing things yourself or are creative, buy this. You won't regret it.

The product cuts good on non fabric items. It does not gather the bottom layer of more than six cotton pieces. I thought it would be easier and faster for cutting multiple layers of fabric. If the cutting shoe were wider or if they sold an adapter that created a wider shoe. This product would be great. However I have to give it credit for cutting tin, light flashing or aluminum, plastics and card board but fabric. It needs improvement.

BUILD QUALITY: Great and Light Weight INCLUDES: ZipSnip Cutter, Pre-Installed Blade, Enclosed Battery, and Charger Cord BLADE INCLUDED: Self-Sharpening and Cuts Through Cardboard, Heavy Packaging Plastic, Medium to Heavy Weight Fabric, and Thin Sheet Metal (That’s all I’ve tested it on. I’m sure it’ll do a lot more.) PRICE POINT: From Worx Directly = Reasonable ENVIRONMENT SAVER: Breaking down boxes is made easy and somewhat fun. It motivates user/owner to breakdown all cardboard for recycling. Adults and the teens seem to now want to be the cardboard breaker. LOL! MONEY SAVER: As a painter, paint shields while using paint sprayers come in handy. There are metal ones and cardboard ones sold at the big box store. The cardboard ones are convenient because they can be disposed of after use, saving time and water. Those are sold for about $00.50 per piece. This tool makes creating straight edge paint shields out of received shipping boxes easy. Not only are boxes broken down but I now have several dollars worth of “free” paint shields. HANDY TIP: For those with arthritis (and limited gripping strength, or smaller hands) keep in mind the black button on top is a safety button and doesn’t have to be held down the entire time. To initiate the cutting blade - Place the material to be cut (ie. cardboard) against the blade - Squeeze the ZipSnip’s long trigger button with your fingers - Press the black safety button on top with your thumb and release when the blade initiates the cut - As long as there is pressure on the blade/cutting is in progress, the blade will continue to spin/cut until you reach the end of the material being cut or when you relieve forward pressure with the ZipSnip. This tip should help those with arthritis, limited gripping strength, or smaller hands. On the end of the ZipSnip is a little loop. It might help to put a small line or paracord looped line through it to prevent accidental drops of the tool. By the way, I do not work for Worx, nor am I associated with the company. I simply love this little gadget and so do the folks around me. They love it so much so that I am going to order a few more as stocking stuffers and one more for me. I could use one in my workshop too! LOL!Read full review

Needed something to make rags out if my old clothes. Scissors hurt my hand after a few articles of clothes. This tool allows me to cut up for about 1/2 hr before it needs recharged, which suits me fine. When cutting through more than 1 layer tge cloth can get stuck in the blade and you have to rip it out

I cut up a good amount of cardboard. For light to midweight cardboard it is a great tool. In addition to making it easier, it also makes it much safer. Every warehouse should have these on hand. If it stops one razor knife injury it is worth much more than it's cost. I had purchased the original Zip Snip (still works great), I ordered this because the battery is getting tired. The self-sharpening blade is still great. I also love having a backup to such an important tool. It is also great for items that come packaged in the stiff and sharp clear plastic.
