This obsolete 41A model has a slightly longer cord than its replacement and the cord is also softer and easier to rewind. I was glad to find one on e-Bay but had to wait several weeks for the search engine to show one available. The powered brush works well on auto carpets and the hose is easy to detach and use with the little crevice tool. Being able to easily switch the power brush off is another plus. For a handy little vacuum to use on cars and for other small jobs in the garage it works very well. It has plenty of suction for most small jobs . For carpeted stairs it should also work well but I don't use it for that.

It is powerful, BUT: It's too heavy, and the handle is VERY uncomfortable. It has too much drag-friction and must be held at a particular angle to suck properly. It's very noisy. And it shoots a blast of hot air out the back, so if you're not careful you'll blow your dirt-pile all over the room.

I gave up on hand vacs awhile back because the battery always pooped out. This is the perfect answer. The cord is long, the vac is lightweight and my attachments fit on this little gem. I have mobility issues and I can carry this where I need to and set it on the floor and use a longer attachment allowing me to stand up straight. The power is great, equal to the suction on my upright. This gets a big thumbs up!

First impression was how modern it looked. turned it on and it had plenty of suction. Used attached hose with crevice tool but hose seemed a liitle short had to really stretch it to reach the corner behind the couch but suction was reasonable. Cord although long, suitable if outlet is far away but if is close and only need a few feet the cord will unravel and get in the way. Power switch does not have enough of a protrusion to effectively go to all of the positions without digging your finger nail onto switch and last upper position for brush motor would not engage if you pushed it to far forward. Some what annoying since you have keep looking at the brushes to see if the are turning. Otherwise a very compact, very powerful hand held that works well with pet hair-have 2 dogs and 2 cats, thats easy to clean, looks nice and has an acceptable hose/crevice feature. The power switch is the only fault I can see and feel that needs to be improved (larger finger protrusion atop switch and less sensative brush motor on position. Difficult to operate especially if you have very short finger nails or very large thumbs.Read full review
Use this for cleaning our stairs...and it's very handy and powerful. Some may find the cord not as convenient, but I don't mind the 60 seconds it takes to use the cord. The cord wraps securely around the back of the vacuum and stores away nicely. And the cord is long enough to plug it in at the bottom of our stairs and work all the way up to the landing on the 2nd floor. The vacuum works well, as is evidenced by the amount of stuff you can see being trapped in the clear bin area, which is very easy to empty. I generally take a brush or dry cloth to dust off the filter when I take it apart. Overall, this is what I was looking for.
