I really like the effort Steve and Evelyn (Authors) have put into this book. It gives detailed information about the plants ie the color, odor, where found, what the similar plants are to it, how to cook or use it. I have read complaints about not being in color. It is true that seeing it in color would help. When putting together such a digest of info, something may get missed. Putting color in would definitely make the book worth more ie cost more. I can easily go on line and print out pictures and make an addendum to the book or attach to where the black and white is. Overall with the descriptive info on the plants, it seems pretty clear how to tell the difference between the edible and the poisonous ones that look similar. The book also describes how to avoid being poisoned with a plant that does have poisonous qualities ie using the plant like a bay leaf (cook with the plant in the food and then remove the plant when done cooking). Very good addition to a library on foraging. Well worth it.Read full review

This book explains things in terms that common, lay people can understand and relate to. It's a very handy book to have to checkout some of the medical problems we're all faced with.
