Bought this to replace the OEM pickup/pick guard/switch plate of a long owned 1970's Strat clone Japanese "Harmony" guitar. I most often couch play through my headphones via a Korg Toneworks Pandora mini effects processor. This product gave a major improvement compared to the OEM pickups/wiring. Of course, the new controls are smoother. But mainly the tone (Alnico V magnets?) is significantly cleaner. Not just my wishful thinking. Depending on the pickup switch selection, and the tone control dial setting, I can find anywhere between smooth vintage rounded tone (say for a Chet Atkins fingerstyle type tone) ... or something a lot more edgy. I have another older Strat clone which also will benefit from this product. .. ordered another one today!) p.s. Shipping and receipt happened flawlessly. Read full review

For the money one can't beat this! 3 V alnico single coil pickups pre wired and mounted in a 3 ply 11 hole pickguard. Similar products would cost a lot more! my only qualm and it was quickly resolved is it doesn't come with instructions. It's a simple install, I had a little confusion about 3 wires to connect, then I remembered the input is actually 2 wires, from there it was quickly resolved. Here's the best part! These folks actually give a damned, they communicated with me upon purchase and delivery, and they responded when I sent out a plea for help on my install confusion. Anyone on the fence about this product, there's a great YouTube piece on it. Enjoy! Robert

Pickgaurd was shipped very securely. The actual pickgaurd is three ply, nice off-white color. The pots, tone caps and switch are not high end, but for this price I wouldn't expect them to be. The wiring and soldering is nicely done and neat. The sound is better than expected. Compared it to a Squire strat, these pickups sound much better. I'm actually pretty surprised how nice it sounds. Normal single coil hum, but dead quiet in positions 2 and 4. For about $23 this is a good deal.

I put the whole works on my Squire pick guard. There was nothing wrong with the pick guard it seems to be made really good. It was about the color. For the money this is a lot of bang for the buck on my squire strat. When under certain ceiling lights I've been getting a slight hum when using single pickup selections. In the mixed positions it's quiet as a church mouse. I think they sound a whole lot better than the original squire pickups. Use a decent tube amp and they'll sing to ya.

Sound better than stock Squier pickups due to its Alnico magnets, but that's about it. Don't expect anything close to American Standard's sound. Maybe MIM standard (bridge definitely better than MIM's). Pickguard may need to be filed off at top (too narrow), and some holes may have to be drilled since they don't match up perfectly.
