After years of dependable service my Dyson DC07 finally gave up the ghost. Decided to replace it with a refurbished Dyson DC33. When I opened the box I thought that someone had mistakenly sent me a new vacuum cleaner. This thing was pristine! After several uses I feel that this vacuum is simply a smaller version of my old DC07. Same 30' cord allows you to move from room to room. Same start button and bare floors to carpet knob. Slightly better expandable wand allows me to reach those cracks & crevices of my 9' ceilings. Similar process to remove & empty the somewhat smaller bin. And lastly the same great suction that Dyson's are know for. All in all a great little machine. If it gives me the same reliability as my old Dyson I will be one happy camper!

Dirt suction works great compared to the Shark vacuum I owned before this one. Too bad I received a defective model. My unit makes a very loud noise when the brushroll is being used. Best way I can describe it is the sound an old school juicer would make while you're putting in fruits/vegetables. I found a YouTube video from a vacuum shop that features the DC33 model making the same noise as mine. (I would link it but links are not permitted in this form.) According to the video, this sound indicates 2 possible issues: A) The brushroll clutch is broken and needs to be replaced. OR B) The brushroll is clogged up with hair and debris. The sound issue happened the very first time I used the unit. This means that right out of the box, the vacuum's brushroll clutch is likely broken. So much for Dyson's reputation for stellar engineering! I also am unable to lock it in position while in use which makes vacuuming difficult. I have to keep the vacuum at an awkward and nearly upright angle in order to clean carpets properly. Which in turn means that if I push too hard or angle it even the slightest bit too much, then it switches to wand mode or carpet mode with the loud brushroll. Absolute headache trying to work around that. I really hope this was just a fluke because I just don't understand what went wrong. These are the kinds of defects that I expect there to be rigorous testing for when buying refurbished! I don't care about small cosmetic imperfections but my unit is all messed up on the inside too.Read full review

Bought this Dyson to replace our 12 year old DC 33. The refurbishment was spot on, with many new parts and nothing unacceptable to be found. We have used this Dyson every day and it has not failed to disappoint in power or ease of use. We haven’t had it very long, but we expect it to perform like the first one did. I think the key to keeping these things going on for years is routine cleaning and maintenance. Keep the filters, pathways and collection bins clean to get the best suction and you won’t overwork the motor.

I like my new Dyson DC33 upright vacuum. I previously had an older Dyson vacuum that lasted 13 years. I must say that the new ones are not made as sturdy as the old ones were, however it is doing a good job of picking up the dog hair in my home. I have 3 long haired dogs so I need a powerful vacuum. The one thing I noticed immediately is that I have to empty the bin a lot more often because Dyson has made them considerably smaller than they used to be. Also, the suction from the wand is not nearly as good as my older vacuum was either. I just don't think they make vacuums like they used to no matter what brand you buy. All in all, I'm happy with my purchase.

Very Light weight Vacuum with great power. Easy to use and being small is super easy to store.Being bag less is the best feature, with the cleaner get fill, just dump. The perfect vacuum. The vacuum has the handle that extents to clean high places, like corner wall, curtains. and stair. Product looks brand new
