      Panel pin setting tool

      I bought this as i am building a model railway layout. Its easy to drop the pin in the tool and easily push the pin to secure the track. I have also used for starting off pins when fitting small trims. The tack lifter is worth keeping in the tool box for when a hammer may be too big to get into a tight corner. All in all a worthwhile investment, highly recommended.

      It's Okay.

      I don't know what I was really expecting since my last one was quite old. It was forked like the tack lifter but had magnets to hold the pins and tacks etc. Stuff that are small and fiddly to hold and hammer at the same time. This tool works by having a magnet inside a small steel tube that forces the pin into woodwork when you push against the main handle. It does not work for all nails, pins and tacks. I have not used it for pins longer than 1" and only against beading. It works reasonably well with the odd split in the wood if you place the pin too near the edge by mistake.
