Like the charging knight insignia, the 505th was omnipresent on the Eastern Front and in 1944 the Tiger I was replaced in part by the even more imposing King Tiger. Greater armor and weapon lethality have it an edge but it was hampered by mechanical issues, limited mobility and range due to weight, size and fuel limitations. The King Tiger was victim to collapsing strategy but tactically it certainly made its mark on a number of key battles in the last year of the war.
