I bought this book the week it was released. The accounting of this country's most valuable coin of all time is fascinating. The author does a great job in writing this story in a detective style, while mixing in terrific history lessons that shaped coin collecting in this country. The history of the secret service, the history of the mints, the key presidential decisions that affected gold and coin collecting, the key coin collectors and coin brokers in US history, and more are what you learn from this book. All done in a manner that keeps it interesting and moving along. The test for this book was that I recommended it to my wife, a non-numismatist, who likes fiction more than non-fiction, and she loved it. She read it cover to cover within a week. Hence, even non-coin collectors will love this one.Read full review
