Most decoders in older units install pretty much the same. Digitrax instructions are clear in most cases. The more installations bring better skills
the Digitrax DH166D was a cinch to install. Instructions were thorough yet simplistic to follow. Both units were done in a little over two and half hours. Had my soldering skills been better it would have been quicker however, quickness soes not mean one can be error prone. It is essential to be careful. Both units wroked flawless.

Okay decoder but not premium.
The limited programmable functions available do not warrant a premium label. It is a basic decoder controlling speed direction and headlight. There is no room for hyperlight effects etc. So if your looking for a premium "non sound" decoder that can do more this is not it. Warrantee is excellent though.

I have issues with this decoder have 2 both have the same problem ,very low volume on . whistle. Decoder were professionally installed , but we couldn't get volume out of the decoder .
