to get to the point, its a great projector for the price and you should really consider buying. i have a small room about ten feet wide and it did great. i bought a 60 inch wide screen for it which did great.the size of the image shown by projector wasent as big as 60 inch thought, im assuming due to how close it is. i have the projector about 8 feet away. yes the one of the cons of the projector is the fan, but if you buy this projector for movies then you would probey have surround sound of some type witch totally blocks out the fan. no the sound wasent as maximum but the fan isn't so loud it is bothersome. the next con is the picture at times is not clear(movies shot in dark or shadowed). hard to see perfectly, but movies like indina jones or toy story come out perfect ! looks real good with movies that have bright scenes(but there is always the option of settings on the menu screen to ur liking). for the price and overall does good and is very cool and easy to use, id recommend ! especially with the bulbs being cheap. yes some movies may come out not as perfectly clear due to the darkness etc but hey can ask for it all and the movies are few. i really like this projector already, and it was just a plug and play. if i had to id buy an other anytime and with three day shipping its a bargain! thanks again ERNIERead full review
I am very satisfied with this product. The fan is a bit louder than I expected, but when I use my projector, I'm doing so for entertainment purposes so I always plug in my external speakers which completely drown it out. It is simple to set-up, has all the connecting cords that you will need, has a great picture.. what more could you want? Obviously, more expensive models will have better features (I haven't tried anything in HD yet) but for a student who just wants to hook up her Wii and laptop, I am completely satisfied.
I needed tha ability to read the hd text on my playstation 3. If the room is bright it is not the best picture to see but, that has been said and that is true no matter what you watch so your viewing room should be made to shade. I could not zoom in and out like other projectors I have used so I was forced to put it in one spot only but, I mounted from the ceiling so it is ok I would say you have to plan on ordering the ceiling mount kit you need one to get it positioned right. I ordered second bulb for cheap I believe to have a spare is worth it. Focus is not smooth to do but once set it is not something I have to worry about. I would say if you can have it shipped other then DHl then do so DHL has a bad habit of going so far with it and putting it in the mail. I believe a true Hd tv has better quality but to get that kind of size this projector does I would not consider I would buy this projector again instead.Read full review
just got this projector a few days ago, and for the price, it was right. my prior projector experience is too limited to really compare specs, besides my family getting a nice optoma projector recently and a friend of mine running some late 2008 toshiba for a good year and a half of us living together. what i can say is, that for what picture quality i saw and what they paid, and what picture quality i saw (from my projector) and what i paid, it was a good investment on my part. testing this projector out, there was plenty to like with a few physical flaws, (mostly being the mount option. universal mounts are hard with this, because they put 2 non removable legs underneath, meaning you need longer screws to hold it in place).. besides the annoying back feet thing, it's a decent design for the body. went between 72in, 90in, and right now a little over 6ft.. now mind you that 72in-90in is really the prime size for best quality, but the size i can push it out to for parties is pretty sweet. everyone is for the most part, too drunk to notice any pixelation and just happy to be watching something, to go along with the music. i would recommend this for anyone who doesnt watch tv on the regular and are super concerned with fine quality, anyone working with some kind of Video-DJ program and want a cheap and dirty projector for graphics/music videos experimenting, or just the once-in-awhile movie watcher, who would like a step up from a tv. i'm 22, havent had a tv in years, dont watch cable but like enjoying movies/tv shows once in awhile.. i live off the internet, so that's cool on the projector. pros: tons of input options. even on the lower grade version without USB support you still get hdmi, svideo, vga, rca, etc.. its even got a little built in speaker if your doin it ghetto cons: need to buy yourself a new power cord. unless your lucky enough to have outlets on your ceiling, or you dont live in an apartment where outlets are far and few in each room (like, any chicago apartment for example) you'll need to either buy a new power cord, a new extension cord, or a new power strip. regardless, you're buying something, theres no way around that.. the hdmi cable it came with was cute, but once again, too short. a joke for anyone doing a projector mount. which is also another problem, the mount they sell with the projector is perfect for this, but look carefully at the underbody and what kind of mount you want before you get it. mine came with screws nowhere close to the size to mount, as there is a plastic shell that restricts you from screwing down a leg easily. basically, you need 2 longer screws, (they give you 2 with with projector.). two minor fixes, maybe an additional $7 tops? all in all i gave it 4/5 satisfaction. i'm excited to dabble more with this projector.. maybe if the optoma pico projectors get better battery life, quality, and drop the pricetag a bit, ill consider one of those. for now, this projector works just fine.Read full review
For the price a relatively good projector, but you have to remember your only paying a couple hundred bucks. If your looking for a high definition, crystal clear projector it's probably best for you to keep saving up and spend the six hundred to thousand dollars on a DLP. I know it says HD but it receives HD then downgrades the signal to it's native resolution. DLPs are expensive when it comes to light bulbs because they dont get as hot; these are like 30$. I use it for gaming for the little guy so there really isn't a problem with the low resolution. Just make sure to keep the image size at around 77-80 inches and your computer resolution set at 800X600 also use the VGA and HDMI cables. Image has some screen door effect but like I say for the price it's not bad... just keep adjusting it until you get that sweet spot then dont mess with it..Read full review
