Our 10 yer old NAD AVR crackled and smoked up, so it was time to shop for a new one. I was going to go cheap at first, I only really care about audio in my dedicated stereo system. But we do have full range speakers in our HT, and I figured I might as well make another 10 year investment. The good: setup was easy and full HDMI connectivity it great. Chromecasting from a laptop switches all devices automatically, for instance. The not so good: really can't tell any difference in sound quality or amplifier power over a less expensive receiver.

Although this is a very nice amp/receiver, I find all these products that use the automatic adjustment for you surround sound field leave the base inadequate, I know I just have to turn the sub up more but they just don't have the umph they use to.....in my humble opinion, but all in all it is a very nice amp/receiver and I do recommend it, I would buy it again. I think I'll try a different speaker configuration and see if it makes any improvement.

after having several entry to mid level denon receivers I spent a little more on this model the X2200 The set up was easy, The Sound quality is much more balanced that any of my previous receivers. The Wifi connectivity is very helpful with my phone or tablet. And the video output is excellent This is a great upgrade for Denon
