Because it is built like a ladder it is a safer climbing stick then the ones that have staggered steps.

PROS: A friend of mine has this ladder and let me use it. I immediately liked it. I like how it sits flush against a tree, it does have spacers so its not directly against the tree, and allows you to get your boot through to get a secure step. Its well built, rugged, with good welds. Easy to set up. Has a good matt black finish. Its quiet too when climbing. I like the side rails, adds extra safety when ascending or descending. But adds extra weight. Stubborn sections when connecting them together. Ended up selling them. The Cons: Heavy, like 30lbs. and bulky, makes it hard to get out in the woods. It comes with cinch straps, I would replace with ratchet straps. I would recommend it.

Great value. Easy to put together, easy to attach to tree, easy to stack and haul in, easy to climb, very stable. Saw reviews complaining about ladder sections hard to put together. I had no such problem. Saw comments about straps not tightening ladder to tree. I climbed, pulled ladder tight to tree, and tightened strap, ladder very stable. Saw stupid comments about not being able to put both feet on a rung at same time. Its designed for one foot at a time just like a stick ladder.

This ladder is sturdy but it is not user friendly. You need a tool kit to assemble it in the woods. So if you by it , be prepared to take a tool kit with you. Other than that it is gooooodddddd!!!!!!
