I bought this espresso machine to have the convenience of making latte's and espresso at home without making a trip to my local coffee shop, and for the added benefit of the money saved by brewing my own. After some research I knew that I wanted a machine that would operate at 15 bar pressure and included a frother/ steamer. DeLonghi machines had good reviews and were respected by people for their ease of operation and convenience. I chose this model for its compact footprint and prerequisite features. I'm quite pleased with the machine after several months of use. It produces excellent brewing temperature and creates an excellent creme. The DeLonghi also has excellent steam production and creates a froth on the milk that will support the sugar without collapse. It will use fresh ground beans or the ese pods and give consistently good results. The only things about this machine that I'm not completely pleased with are the lack of cup warmer and the built in tamper.Read full review
This is the perfect machine for first time owners. Not complicated and doesn't take too long to make a perfect cup of espresso. Using this one will give you time to decide if you want to upgrade and if so what features you want to have. I use it everyday at least once if not two or three times. Functions consistent. Makes a Starbucks quality drink without too much fuss. Looks nice on the counter and has paid for itself in a short time.
I got this as a gift, and its one of the best/most used/practical gifts Ive ever received. It got me to stop paying $3 almost every day for an americano at Starbucks (which is a cheap drink for them). So it has saved me hundreds if not thousands of dollars. As long as you use good coffee, it tastes just like you went to Starbucks. HAving worked at Starbucks, in order to get it to taste the same, you do need to learn about the perfect grind, tamp, and draw time. BUT IT TASTES GREAT if you do it right. However, it recently started having problems in the last month, and started leaking from the bottom, only working half the time. I've had it for year and a half, and maybe I overused it a bit, but I can't seem to fix it, and Delonghi says I have to send it off and pay for it to be repaired, so I bought a new one today (a Krups 4030), and it works just as good and for the same price. I DO RECOMMEND THIS, THOUGH I WAS A LITTLE DISAPPOINTED THAT IT BROKE AFTER A YEAR AND A HALF. (maybe they all do, if you use it almost everyday) STOP GETTING RIPPED OFF AT STARBUCKS AND BUY ONE. YOULL LOVE IT.Read full review
The De' Longhi Bar32 Espresso machine is attractive, functional as well as small enough to not take up a lot of space yet it makes a superb Espresso and even better Ristetto when you get the grind correct and use a good quality bean. The machine recovers fast which is also a plus. I use only distilled water in it to prevent mineral build up and yes one should not drink only distilled water but I drink a lot of well water also so no problem. Bottom line I love the The De' Longhi Bar32 Espresso machine
