I do a lot of Pay Lake fishing . I have a lot of surf rods I like my Beefsticks the best . All the adds just say super-strong tubular fiberglass blank . but the tags on the rod say it is a Graphite Composite Rod Blank. The only bad part of a Beefstick is it is black real hard to see it at night. No fish is to BIG. You can cast BIG bait. Just a hill of a rod for the money.

This rod is top quality for its price range. This is the type of rod I grew up using. I use this rod to surf fish in the Sea of Cortez where there are huge powerful fish. I find this rod to be just about indestructible. I have had zero issues with Beefstick fishing rods, including the guides that many people like to make negative comments about. I find it a great utility rod that can cast bait as well as work saltwater lures with ease. If you can break this rod while fishing, make a video of it, because even if you use 100 lb. test with it, though not recommended by Daiwa, the line will break first and not bother the reel seat one bit.

Reviews are mixed on this rod, but for an 30-40 dollar rod, it is outstanding. It is labelled as a spinning rod which it would be great for, but I used a vintage penn squidder conventional casting reel. Could'nt be happier.

Very well made ,rod guides hold up well and feel seat is plenty sturdy. Overall this is a great buy for the price. If I could improve on anything wish it caught more fish.
