    Extremely fast cutting saw

I was very surprised by the power this little saw had. Prior to this chainsaw, I used a DEWALT reciprocating saw and it would take about 20 minutes to get through a downed tree. I have cut trees about 8 inches in diameter in under 20 seconds with the chainsaw. Smaller branches take under 10 seconds to cut. For cleaning up downed trees, it was a chore using a gas powered since I only needed the saw to run a couple of minutes, shut it down, restart it for another couple of minutes, and repeat. I can't believe how aggravating that was until I tried this electric saw. Since I don't use the saw on a regular basis, it also means not throwing away old gasoline every time I need to use it. I actually highly recommend this saw. The only reason for 4 stars is that the automatic oiler does leak between usage. How well it performs way out weighs a little bit of oil leaking.

  • Top critical review

    Heavy weight but light duty

Definitely designed for occasional use. Camping is what I bought it for, quite light wood gathering. Not really a full size 2 hand saw and not a balanced top handle either. Cheap battery saw when quite / easy work is the goal. Power is fine with a light hand but definitely much heavier carry weight than expected and not balanced well with any size battery I tried. Yes it leaks bar oil. Yes it oils well. Cheap homeowners saw or occasional camping, definitely not a every day or Construction saw. And definitely not a climbing aaw.... on a nice note, no vibration, inexpensive,

  • Time passages

As we all know we are in the digital age and this is an example of things to come.this little saw is impressive I bought it to do some small clearing. Small brush and then tree or two.... at first I was giggly it looks like a toy .... as my day wore on i was able to get more work done because i didnt spend one ounce of energy strarting the saw and i was not gassed out by fumes and about an hour inside the job .... i decided that this is a very good swithch from gasoline to cordless ..... as i had other dewalt tools and was impressed at how much power it had and how much it kept throughout the task. I am sold on the new tools the simply work great and i will be keeping a gasoline saw to bail out with i know this is going to work out just perfect....thanks dewalt for great products i love and will keep on buying your tools...!!!helping to make america great again.... i am amazed at how far tech has reached out.... keep up the good work dewalt.....

  • Great for small jobs (WEAR EYE AND HEARING PROTECTION)

Make sure to get the DeWalt branded chain saw oil and fill your well before trying it out. Some YouTube videos suggest vegetable oil - DO NOT DO THAT! The instructions in the pamphlet are not easy to follow nor do they provide enough information. You will need to watch several YouTube videos on safety and usage first. Otherwise the product is excellent. It is built for smaller jobs. Don't expect to get out there and cut down a 70 foot pine! If a tree goes down because of a storm, you can easily use this thing to take the limbs down while waiting for a pro to come with proper equipment to dispose of the rest of the tree. It is easy to get overconfident with this thing because of the size. IT IS STILL A CHAIN SAW. Be careful - wearing eye protection is a must.

  • And now it's my turn.

My husband, a Forester and teacher of Forestry use to do all the wood cutting. I remember him sitting on the back of the Dodge Ram carefully filing each toorh of his chain saw he was to use that day. Unfortunity, the "love of my life" passed away and now it's time for me and my older boys to do the cutting. I didn't want a long blade. Dangerous enough the lengths he used. So I got a short blade to start with. It's a nice weight and balance for me and as soon as the fallin trees are dry enough we're gonna get to it. Perfect fit for me and my two older boys. Thanks Dewalt. Lynn

  • Great lightweight saw that makes yard work so much easier!

I bought this saw a couple months ago and absolutely love it! No more yanking a rope, toxic gas fumes or loud saw idling in between cuts. I found myself doing more because this saw makes it so much more simple. It’s not as powerful as a gas saw of course, but it does a lot better than I expected and rips right through everything. I’ve used it for pruning, cutting down wild trees and cutting up branches to size for firewood and it does wonderful. I’ve even cut down and then cut up a couple trees the full length of the blade and it went right through it without bogging down at all. I was impressed how easily it it did for such a light saw. I was using a Xr 8ah battery which did seem to give it a little more power. I use low amp batteries for smaller stuff and it does fine. I believe this is more aimed at home owners, but I’m sure it would come handy for on the job too. I would highly recommend this saw and have to several of my friends. The pole saw is handy too if your thinking of adding that to your arsenal. It doesn’t have the power this does of course, but for pruning those hard to reach branches it’s great! Just be sure the blade is spinning before contact and it goes right through them very easily.

  • DeWalt 20v chainsaw

DeWalt makes a quality product and this saw is no different. Perfect for limbing and trimming and anything else that a small chainsaw does. It has plenty of power and is very well designed. The tool less chain and blade adjusting/ tightening is great and seems well thought out. I would highly recommend this item be considered if your in the market for small ,always ready, chainsaw.

  • Great “little” saw.

Great “ little “ saw! But, it’s “not power less”!!! It’s “little” enough for the brush that falls all year long on the camp grounds here in PA. It’s also perfect for the bigger limbs and to cut the long limbs to fit the “pick-up” trailer. The men love it. Light weight enough to throw it in the truck, and off you go to clean “up time”! No gas, a little oil, an extra battery, and you’re running. We purchased the 12” blade model. Glad we did!!

  • A great little trim or small tree saw.

I read all the reviews I came across about this saw before I decided to buy. No one had a problem with the power or the unit's weight. Some didn't like the safety button being too far forward causing an awkward hold when starting the motor. I already had 20v batteries for my other DeWalt tools, so the lack of a battery or charger was not a concern for me. I have been using my new saw and I have been impressed as many others have been. I agree that DeWalt should relocate the safely lockout button or change the switch to a paddle as at least one other reviewer recommended. I found nothing cheap about the chain that came with my saw. One reviewer commented that he replaced his chain with an Oregon chain. I haven't seen any need to do this.

  • Although capable of bar's length, there are certainly better uses within the little saw's parameters.

Although no powerhouse and certainly not comparable to a similar sized gasoline powered saw the Dewalt DCCS620B is incomparable for it's intended purpose(s) and when utilized within the saw's limitations. If you already have access to suitably sized batteries (4Ah -bare minimum- 5-to-6 Ah MUCH better suited) the saw's value simply can't be questioned. Use it appropriately. within reasonable expectations, and your satisfaction will be assured.
