    Good product, smaller than anticipated

The D-Link DHP-701AV Powerline 2000 Mbps 1 Gigabite port was very easy to set up and has worked well. I have had a couple of instances where it drops signal, but that is likely because I have it running through a surge protector. The actual unit itself is smaller than I had anticipated.

  • Top critical review

Signficantly slower than other brands across circuits.

I was looking to use this product to replace a TP-LINK AV1200 setup, but the performance is just terrible. While I can get 200mpbs in the same room, as soon as I go off the same circuit, performance drops down to 12-20mbps and going down from my 2nd floor to 1st floor I get about 6mbps. My old setup got 60mbps on that same run. These aren't even as good as 2.4GHz wifi. I'd strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

  • QUICKER & EASIER THAN PULLING CABLE!

I bought a pair of these D-Link PowerLine AV2 2000 unit’s, then another pair, then another pair! They are THAT good!! The first pair has been in use for at least 2 years with no problems! All have been trouble free. They are Plug-in-Play, no optioning and no software required. The download/upload speeds are about the same as an Ethernet wired connection from my experiences. However, the newer the house wiring is will determine how fast the connection will be. Individual results will vary. My only complaint is they run warmer that I would like. As a retired Broadcast Engineer, I have always liked for electronic devices to run cool. When the warranty runs out I intend to open them up and drill some holes for proper ventilation.

  • Does what it is designed to do; easy to set up and, so far reliable.

Throughput is about 14.5 mbs. I think the reason is that the two affected outlets are not on the same circuit, so the signal travels through the breaker. But I'm still getting good streaming performance with that data rate. I'm satisfied.

  • What an upgrade over wifi

My expectations weren’t high because I used a Powerline adapter before, it was tp-link and not Gigabit but it was such a huge disappointment I didn’t have high hopes. This adapter was incredible, I have a great wifi router, Netgear x8 ac5300, but in my living room I was only getting 21Mbps down on 5 Ghz. I plugged these in, pressed the sync button on each and a minute later I had 205 Mbps!

  • Barely good enough.

These work as well as the reviews say. Meaning they are acceptable if you have no other options, like me. The speed is nowhere near gigabit. I was consistently getting 30 Mbps and occasionally the signal would drop out completely for about 10 seconds. This has been reported online in professional reviews as well. If you have no other way to get internet to a remote part of your house, then I think this is OK. If you have other options such as an extender or MOCA, then I think that would be the preferred option.

  • it's good

the powerline adapters arrived in new condition. there's really no setup. if you want security, just pusn the button on each adapter. they don't block the other plug of a duplex receptacle. my internet subscription speed is "only" 50Mbps. speedtest on computer hooked up to the powerline adapter showed 52Mbps. that's across an arc fault circuit breaker and from one end of the house to the other. these adapters are better than i expected.

  • As described

Product was as described. Packed moderately well. No documentation included, the documents are online at the D-Link site. Product works but not as well as I was hoping. If you want no loss of speed from your cable modem to your remote access points, then you really need to use ethernet cable

  • barely meeting performance

Easy to set up but, internet quality LED stays red and gives 30 MBPS when from router input is 45 + MBPS. why so low with 2Gbps AV Powerline?

  • Just read the description carefully.

Just read carefully the caveats clearly posted on the listing. Every negative review I've seen of this device is based on the purchaser not reading what the postings says about it. You need to keep this units on the "same circuit" don't try to do a cross over to another circuit. It is not designed for that as some other types of units are. It gives great speed and works fantastic if you read what it is designed to do and use it that way. Delivery was very fast as well.
