Regardless of beginner-pro status, this is a essential guide for all who love crafts. Not often mentioned in other guides is the wonderful photography by Ernest Coppolino and Morris Karol and the professional illustrations of (notable artist) Nicholas Calabrese. The book is a general guide to home crafts and hobbies and does not pretend to be a crafts money maker or earn profits type of guide. It is here for the pure enjoyment of those interested in crafts and that's it. Nicely done, over sized and heavy. Many timeless subjects like canning and woodworking. This is a guide for someone who likes using their hands. All hobbies here are craft related, in other words, nothing on stamps, baseball cards, coins, comics, etc: Just crafts and lots of 'em.
An encyclopedia of craft info. Already bought 3, and will buy more. Really---not just pottery, but how to build the kiln! AND how to build the potter's wheel! Stain glass - both methods. Jewelry - casting, soldering bezels, setting stones, etc. winemaking. Best instructions on tumbling rocks I've read. Painting. make your own shoes!!!make your own leather briefcase.....woodworking- chair, chest, table, etc. canning & bread recipes. can't recommend it enough.
Many crafts and hobbies listed in this book will come in handy post-covid19 quarantine.

Another good book from Reader's Digest. Full of great step-by-step instructions and introductions for a variety of different hobbies. The only thing about this volume is the dated material. After all, it is from the 1980's, but we all know that some things have benn improved upon. This is a great starter book though. Very easliy understood.
