When i first got the book i noticed the tab dividers on some of the pages. Then when i opened the book up i noticed alot of highlighting which really stood out. I started doing C programming and went by the book and the CD that came along with it and completed a sample program. This book is very detailed and it outlines very well and i will keep using the book until there is no more programming left on it for C, C++, and Java.
There are some text books that just leave you in the cold but this one really taught me a lot. I would couple it with some kind of work book or exercise book, but this text book is definitely worth the money. I bought an older edition, it just about has the same as the new edition. I am very happy with it.
I've read lots of different types of programming books, and this book just makes it simple. It's hard enough trying to learn through a book, but the progressive example grow throughout the chapters and add each new concept introduced. I haven't seen a better book yet.
