This CD played well, had many really fine songs, but DAC often sounded as if these tunes were recorded off a radio, were not well produced, or were sung after his voice faded. That gritty timber was missing on several songs giving the impression of a dated lounge act. Still, am keeping and recommending the album because it contains so many of his good songs, and some of them are sung well. If able, purchase some of his earlier albums to hear him at his best.

well, David Allan Coe is known for his rough ridin outlaw songs, and well, these recordings sounded like he was recording in a church! They were very bland and not emotional. As if he was singing just to get it over with. His best song You dont even call me by my name, was the worse recording of that song I have ever heard. Went super fast and hardly any instruments. Definately NOT what I was so looking forward to. My husband even said, is that David Allan Coe? It almost sounded like someone else, cuz there was just no roughness in the songs. I would compare this cd to the Partridge Family. I thought I was getting the REAL songs that one hears on the radio and syrius radio. Not so in this package. DULLSVILLE
