If you're running DC Insulfrogs work fine. They also works fine for some DCC locomotives such as those with a long wheelbase. But those with a short-base locos may have a hard time making it across the frogs others will just short-out.and stop. You can wire them to avoid this problem but if that's the case, you may as well get Electrofrogs. I still prefer Insulfrogs because my DCC locos work because I tinker with the rails and use glue near the frog points, where the shorts always occur. There's a lot of information on the web about how to make turnouts work better. You may want to read a few articles before deciding what to buy.

This turnout works better than I expected! When wired as recommended by Peco, trains do not stall, they switch from one route to another without derailing, and this turnout takes much less space than a Shinohara #6-3 way turnout or a double crossover turnout. Peco turnouts do not require the complex wiring my old Shinohara did. This product is "DCC Friendly", meaning it does not require complex track wiring since this is an Insulfrog turnout. I HIGHLY recommend Peco products.

These are remarkable little turnouts. They give you 3 ways to go in the space of 2. they are very easy to use with or without a motor.

Simply PECO tracks and switches are simply the best you can get.

Perfect fit for my switchyard layout. Don't forget to insulate the rail or you'll get a small short as the loco crosses the frog.
