Just received this watch and initially had difficulty establishing a Bluetooth connection to my Android. After a half hour of spinning my wheels realized that deleting the prior stored phone in the watch was key to making success. Once deleted the next attempt sync to the phone was completed. Now the other aspects. Build quality and aesthetics are top notch. If you don't aspire to be Dick Tracey, this could be exactly your ticket. You can set what apps create alerts, and don't get nagged for the nuisance items. The downsides depend on your desires. Some will demand more detail so it would disappoint in this case. It is heavy and a good 1/2 inch thick. It is rated for 10 bar (330 ft,) water resistant, so swimming and snorkeling won't harm it.

The bluetooth connectivity kept disconnecting so I felt the notification features would not be reliable. I really like the idea of the feature, but I just think it would be more annoying than beneficial. I really liked the style and look of the watch, but decided to purchase a Citizen Brycen Titanium Chronograph. The Titanium was much lighter weight and without the bluetooth connectivity, I was more confident in the functions not becoming confusing or annoying.

As a background, I purchased my Citizen BZ-1000 watch mainly because of its Bluetooth synchronization functionality, but its looks were also a key factor. I mainly need this functionality for easy transition to different time zones, because I travel overseas quite frequently. I don’t need the notifications, and as a matter of fact I disabled them, so I can't comment anything about this functionality. I also have a Casio Edifice Bluetooth watch which I bought several years ago for similar purposes. Now I've had my Citizen for a little more than a month, and last week I returned from my first business trip with this watch, in which I changed time zones several times. When I first got it I managed to sync it with my phone and set the time quite easily. It took me some time to figure out how the application works, and especially how to set the second time zone, but once I did it worked as expected. I didn't sync it again for about 4 weeks and it remained quite accurate – only about 7 seconds off – though this is not surprising and what I would expect from any quartz watch. In my recent trip I found that changing the time zones is as easy as you can expect: a. Once you land, move your phone out of flight mode and wait for it to sync the time. b. Open the Citizen app. c. Push a button on the watch, and after a few seconds it changes its time zone. Overall I'm happy with my purchase, and here is what I like most about this watch: 1. Looks classy. 2. Easy to sync with my phone and set to different time zones. 3. Eco-Drive technology, which charges from light and doesn't need battery replacement. 4. Has date and day indications with a perpetual calendar. 5. Has a 24-hour dial. 6. Has a battery level indicator. A few points that could have been better: 1. In some light conditions the mode selection sub-dial at the bottom can be confused with one of the main dials and looks like it's pointing at 6 O'clock, and this makes it slightly harder to determine the time at a glance. 2. The Seconds hand and day-of-the-week sub-dial are blue while the watch face is black, which is not the best contrast and makes it harder to see them. 3. It would be nice to have a sub-dial for the second time zone with an option to switch the two with a push of a button – the Casio Edifice Bluetooth watches all have this functionality. 4. Right after you sync the watch its time is about one second behind that of the phone (which is the accurate time). Read full review

I chose the Black dial with blue hands, nice and not visibly LOUD like the model with the green hands, which would have been an interesting topic of discussion. IT was new, with tags, very LARGE at Dia. 45mmx15mm thick for my 7" wrist. New, but it did not come with a Manual, so I guess it's downloadable like most Citizen Watch User guides, I didn't like the Bracelet which, with full links, was AS heavy as the watch! So I changed it to a 20" rubber strap with new spring pins. Could I have selected the other model PRYZYM, yes, but I didn't like that Crystal sticking out that far from the Case. Is there a problem with Bluetooth Sync to Samsung Android? Not noticeable, but in time we'll see.

Watch is a little bigger than i expected. It fits comfortable. Bluetooth feature is handy for mostly setting features on the watch, since it loses connection easily. Quality of the watch is excellent, feels like a well made piece.
