This is by far one of the greatest documentaries ever made. Using real footage and interviewing celebrities, historians, writers, and regular everyday people, this series covers the 20th century from 1900 - 1999 from a historical point of view. Peter Jennings (Lord rest his soul) does a phenominal job hosting this series and makes history interesting to the average person. This series should be shown in history classes from grades 8 to 12. I highly recommend this series for anyone interested in history or teaching history.
Extremely interesting and important aspects of history that all Americans should know well… presented in an easy to follow timeline… !!!

I bought this video set to show in junior high school classrooms to give students brief, overall impressions of America in the 1900s. Specifically, I teach music. These videos are very comprehensive. I do, however, wish that there were videos like this in a shorter format.
This film series is excellent for teaching and that is why I bought the series. Each episode does a marvelous job at pulling together political, social, and economic aspects of United States history and of the United States within a wider world context.
Great video compilation .. I use these videos for my Social Studies classes almost every week .. A wonderful addition to my video library .. Thanks!
