I bought this synthesizer just because I had to see what Casio has been up to! My first impressions I wasn’t all that satisfied because I am an old synthesizer fan that is used to many knobs. The architecture on this keyboard is a little bit odd. I found most of the synth presets not very usable. The drums and percussion are pretty good. The six layer hex sounds are interesting but it is difficult to form a good sound. I actually thought the drawbar Oregon was quite fun to play with. I think the synthesizer kind of shines in that area. I am not an organ player but it was fun and inspiring to change the harmonics with the drawbars. Make sure to pull them down instead of pushing them up, so down would be maximum volume in Organ mode. I thought the filters didn’t sound very good when you were using a PCM-based sample source sound. The filter did its best when you were using one of the raw waveforms. I actually did get some pretty interesting lead and bass sounds in the solo synth section while searching through the waveforms. One thing I don’t like about the filter is that it is not active while you hold down the keys in performance and hex mode. If you are running an arpeggiation works but it’s a little Steppy. are used the phrase sequencer to make a quick break beat but I did not know how to quantize it properly so I will have to learn that. You can also write your own custom arpeggio patterns which is nice. The Keybed is velocity sensitive but no after touch which does not really bother me. You can get some light variations by touching the keys very soft, and when you hit the keys hard you get very loud sound so it works well. Overall I give it four stars because it could do a little bit better if they added an analog filter into it that would rock. I think it is an interesting keyboard and I’m going to see what I can get out of it in the studio! I think it’s worth it if you could get it for around $350.Read full review

The piano and organ sounds excel on the keyboard. Beyond that, you may have your work cut out for you trying to get synth or acoustic sounds you're satisfied with. Without a doubt, just the piano and organ sounds are worth the price of the keyboard and it has plenty of other functionality that makes it a great buy, but the criticisms of the keyboard tend to have merit also.

Still learning it, but the quality and sound and features are unbeatable. The options are endless. Really, you could turn this into a main keyboard with a bit of learning and exploring. It feels good, it's made well, and it promises a lot of fun.
