From a purely defensive standpoint the LG-437 is a good choice. It activates when you grip the gun. However, if you want to practice at a indoor range you might not want the laser on every time you fire. It might also distract other shooters in lanes next to you. Unlike other Crimson Trace lasers this one has no other on/off switch. I spoke to Crimson Trace who said they have no plans to offer it in a green laser, (which according to them is easier to see) or put a separate on/off switch on it. I elected to go with a Laser Max. It does have a separate on/off button which is easily activated/deactivated with your index finger. The quality of Laser Max may not be quite up to the Crimson Trace but it does fill the bill.

I attached it to my CM40, but it was so tight as to make it seem like it could easily break if I were to significantly bump it at the point where it forms a kind of zig zag overlapping connection. The on/off button seems kind of cheep. It feels like if you were to squeeze it too hard you might break it. After just an hour of dry fire drills the button no longer seems to have the same crisp on/off feel to it when depressed. I feel as though it now takes slightly more pressure to get it to come on now, but it is still working okay. I'm not sure if I would purchase it again. It is nice to instantaneously know that you're on target and that is what I like most about it. It also wasn't too hard to get sighted in as well and that was a plus. On a scale of 1 - 10 I would give it a 6 or 7 as far as quality goes. Good luck and hope this helps you to make your decision.Read full review

This is an excellent product and I think it is probably the best and most useable accessory I ever bought for a gun. It sure resolves the issues of target acquisition. The fit was perfect and installation was simple. Everything you need for installation and adjustment is included with it. I shot 2 1/2" groups at 35 ft., when sighting it in. That's far better than I was ever able to shoot with the open sights. It required very little laser adjustment, after installation. You will like this sight better than any you've ever had, on a defense weapon. You will have much more faith in your ability to shoot straight when you really, really need to....

Very pleased with the price and quality of the Crimson Trace laser. Very easy to install on my kahr cw9, slight adjustment of the alignment and the laser stays dead on!

I own several Crimson trace products and this LG-437 is a little snug fitting to the pistol but that is actually a good thing because it can't loosen up on the pistol. Aligning the laser with the pistol sights takes very little adjustment. I would caution anyone installing this Laserguard to get it fitted into position and use small rubber insulated clamp to close both halves together and then install the two small screws thus avoiding the possibility of stripping the screws. Works like a charm. I haven't had a chance to shoot the Laserguard at the range yet but it will be just fine. Good product.
