A DVD which dramatizes the the life of 20th Century Christian apologetic C. S. Lewis. The narrator speaks in the first person as if we were sitting in the subject's office and study at Oxford listening to him capsulize his life just prior to his death in 1963. The DVD was filmed on location (including Oxford and London) and uses several actors and actresses to present key events in Lewis's life including childhood, schooling, war experiences, fellowship, conversion and life with Joy and late period after her death. It was a good representation and the location shots were rich. Due to the limited time of a single DVD, some events are compressed, but, all in in, very well done. Any Lewis fan should enjoy this delightful and sometime poignant review of the inventor of Narnia. One warning: it is not, as the title may vaguely imply, a discussion of the stories in the Chronicles of Narnia, though Lewis's writing of that series is covered. Those very familiar with the Chronicles will find many little experiences and memories of his life that influenced several parts of the stories.Read full review
This is the most wonderful monologue that I've ever heard or watched on video; it also goes into story form too. The main speaker runs through C.S. Lewis' life in splendid fashion. I will enjoy watching this over and over and over again. If you are into his books or the movies that people have made of them, then most likely you will NOT be disappointed. It was worth every cent that I paid for it. I learned a lot about his childhood and upbringing, and the many things that he went through that helped to mold him into the wonderful man of God that he is (bc he still IS alive right now). God helped to get him out of atheism and into a RELATIONSHIP with Him. The main reason that he was previously into atheism was because of "religion", Satan''s greatest farce, lie, and ploy yet. There are more "religious people" in Hell today/tonight than one can imagine. He thoroughly explains and gives testimony to the road of his life and journey to Christ. This movie is a Must-See if you like good, sound movies without swearing or sex scenes. It's a Family Movie for those that I would guess to be aged 12 to adult. It gives C. S. Lewis' testimony in fine style. I Love it !!Read full review

This is a good book for followers of C.S. Lewis and his works. It gives insight into his childhood and his wartime experiences, as well as his years as a scholar, writer and a family man. Well written and interesting for me since I always would like to know more about my favorite author.
