The textbook was EXCELLANT!! I purchased the text book item for an INF 231 Programming Concepts class at Ashford University-Online. I liked the price the most about the item. I disliked most the size of the item. The text was very illustractive and numberous in its diagrams. The examples were plenttiful, very detailed and step by step. The problems were easy to follow. Programs examples were easy to recreate and understand. The text material was up to date. The review questions were numberous and succesfully highlighted the material that was located within the book.
This book is easy to read and understand. It highlight and color codes and key words. However, I don't like the example code since they're outdated. For example, instead of "using namespace std" to avoid prefix ::, they still use the old fashion way, i.e they have :: prefix for all the pre-processor section.
This same book here in Brazil costs almost twice as much and It's an older edition. The book is surprisingly "small" for it's 1400 pages, I've just started studying with it but it seems to be a great book.
Everything is very easy to understand. The author shows you the final code for a program and then breaks it down into little pieces, explaining what everything does exactly.
This book is actually one of the best C++ oriented that i know, it's easy to read and have very good exercises.
