I am happy with this machine. It is sturdy, but still light enough to use for retreats and classes. Plenty of feet, even a walking foot. My only complaint is the upper thread holder is awkwardly angled and needs to be removed when traveling. The stitches seem strong and even right out of the box.

I purchased this brother sq9285 to replace my older brother machine I have had since the 1980's and I am loving it! I have taken sewing into the modern age, and loving it. I love all the quilting stitches and the embroidery as well! This is my first computerized sewing machine, and I took right off! Very easy to use and understand. The instructions are very easy to understand. I love being able to sew without the presser foot! It even has snail speed! The only thing I noticed that wasn't the best is when you shut it off it resets the stitch back to beginning, and places the needle to the left. I had been piecing a quilt, and the opening for the needle is only in the center on the foot. I have to remember to change the stitch back every time I shut it off or I will hit the foot. I wish it would reset to center so any foot would work. Came in packaged well and everything was included, as described. I would definitely recommend!Read full review
