I have zero complaints about this machine. Fast, quiet, well built. Has all the features we wanted: printer, scanner (with multiple document feeder), copier, fax. Works seamlessly with Windows XP, Mac OS X and Linux (all of which are used in my home). Wireless setup was painless. Excellent software for the Mac. Drum and printer cartridges are reasonably priced, even the OEM stuff. Even has a manual feed straight pass-through printing option for thick cardstock or labels, which my wife really wanted for doing invitations and such.
Like some of the other reviewers, it took me a while to get it set up and "talking" to my other computers on the wireless network. I have one computer on XP and another on Vista and I had to overcome different problems for each one so don't give up. Now that it's all set up, it works exactly the way I need it to. I am a graduate student and print out lots of documents, articles and data as well as my own research articles. I can also scan graphs and put them into a powerpoint presentation. Having this print saves me a lot of time/frustration printing out large documents on a bubblejet or spending my time in a computer lab at school. Now I can work when I want to, for as long as I want to.
I had a lasor printer and a scanner. I found the need for a FAX. I heard good things about this small all-in-one and decided to try it out. I have it on a VISTA machine and set it up with no problems. So far I have scanned/faxed and printed several items and it is very user friendly. The small screen prompts you to do each step and the key selections are simple and straight forward. Love it and I even bought a REFURB rather than new. No Problem. I am running off the USB right now but it can be networked if you use a wireless system. Paper tray hold a lot of paper. CONS: You can't see paper level, Parts of course are all plastic so be gentle and that's about it..
I have 3 of these printers for my office and have used them for many years. This particular one however was bought for parts only to fix one of my other ones.
Verified purchase: Yes
Other than some minor difficulty getting the printer to communicate with out wireless network, set-up was a straightforward. Make sure you have the details of your wireless network handy while setting up this printer. Printer quality and speed are great and I highly recommend.
