I have used Cobra radar detectors for years. This is my first Whistler, and I am amazed. Just today, the Whistler sounded an alarm. We were coming into a small town. After about 2 miles, I told my wife that it must be a false alarm. Nope, almost a mile more and a "THIS IS YOUR SPEED" sign was registering my speed. The Whistler had picked it up almost 3 miles away. Great product at a great price.

Well its kinda hard to get it just right on the setting . I started with just city mode but was missing a lot of police cars . It would go off but way to late . Oh I need to add that the voice does not work on just standard city mode . I have since set it to City 1 mode and it seems to do better . I'm getting sufficient warning of police with radars on . the only down side is its supposed to be smart learning tech or some bs like that . other than that its ok but not the best you know .

I've compared this RD with a few of the higher end models, like the Escort Passport 8500 x50 and the Escort Redline. This performs admirably compared to the $500 detectors. When tested side by side, the Escort Redline would alert to a signal (over a mile away from the source), and within 3 seconds the Z-19R would start alerting. So you have ample time to react before the speed trap can actually see you. I've also tested it against some lower end detectors like the Cobra XRS line and Whistler's XTR-438, XTR-558, XTR-658, XTR-145, CR65, CR 75. The Z-19R out-performed them all! Set up is easy, and there are multiple modes to choose from to program it to your driving style. There are very few false alarms and you can pretty much eliminate false alarms by turning TFSR on. I just purchased another Z-19R for my wife since she's been "borrowing" mine a little too much lately. I recommend this to all who don't want to spend $500 on a high end RD. If you have $300-$500 to spend on a RD, look into the Escorts. However if your budget is under $120, this is hands down the best RD you can buy.Read full review

This radar is better then the last one I had, that I purchased close to $400, and this one way cheaper, and a hell of a lot better then those expensive ones. I love how this one gives at least a mile, and a half almost of detection, performs so much better, I enjoy the lighting, from bright, medium, and dark. I have not figured out the voice on it, but it’s still an awesome buy. Thank you. This seller is highly recommended!!

Easy to use, My old radar detector kept giving false signals the new detector, gives you a signal and then is quite unless the radar signal gets stronger then it gives you another signal. would recommend this detector to anyone looking for a radar detector.
