Written with verve and wit, this compedium of American motorcyling history (with a nod to European and British bikes as well), offers the reader, bike fan or not, an excellent overview of the dynamic world of bikes and bikers. The text is filled with tasty dollops of history coinciding with the motorcycles its describes and a panorama of the wild world of custom bike building and builders. Remarkable for it tons of great photos culled from the 30 year archives of the famous Easyriders magazine for which the author worked for several years, it's not your typical motorcycle book and worth adding to one's collection.
Not at all what the title implies, this book, while providing some level of entertainment, is just another in a long line of Harley documentaries with a smattering of reflexions on a few bike builders. It's all about the legand......AGAIN! and not at all what I had hoped for, or thought I was purchasing. Perhaps this book should have been titled " Born To Be Bragged About and a Few other Bikes" Not a painful book, just not what you will be expecting when you order.
