An ok unit for the price, but not remarkable. Shuts off in the warm mode as soon as you lift it off the electric base. Cups are 4 oz size, rather than the standard 6 oz size of most other coffee makes. Does filter well, and does brew quickly. Bottom carafe is plastic, and cannot be immersed. Top is glass, a risk for breakage. If you are looking for a siphon-vacuum type coffee maker, a vintage Sunbeam Coffeemaster of any model would be MUCH better, and available at a cheaper price. Only advantage of this unit is that you have the fun of watching the coffee brew.
