See the typical character that Bill Murray plays intimidate Richard Dreyfuss as the "Patient Doctor Relationship" gets a little too personal, and the doctor's family takes Bob's side as the doctor (Dreyfuss) begins "to loose his marbles". "I'm Sailing, I'm Sailing, I'm a Sailor"

    Younger years

In my younger years I remember watching this on TV. How funny Bill Murray is in his day-to-day life and how he struggles with phobia. Dr. Leo Marvin is hilarious as well. I like how he establishes such a dependency with his doctor that he follows him on vacation. If you're a fan of Bill Murray I highly suggest this movie from his catalog. You won't be disappointed. I'm glad I was able to find this on eBay for a good price.

  • What About Bob? Had to own it!

After catching the end of "What About Bob" on t.v. a couple of weeks ago I decided I had to own it! It really is one of Bill Murray's best roles although Richard Dreyfuss is especially phenomenal. Bill Murray (Bob) comes to Richard Dreyfuss (Dr. Marvin) with a menagerie of problems. Dr. Marvin gives him a copy of his new book titled Baby Steps. Before Bob even gets to try his 'baby steps' he finds out Dr. Marvin is going on vacation for a month. This throws Bob into a tizzy so he craftily finds out where Dr. Marvin is vacationing and manages to find his way there. The most hysterical part of this movie is that Bob is driving Dr. Marvin absolutely crazy, but his family thinks Bob is great. They even say he's more fun than Dr. Marvin. There is a scene ...

  • Super Hilarious

This has GOT to be one of Bill Murray's best performances/movies EVER! He really draws you in. You find him irritating; then you feel for him; then you love him; then you're cracking up at and with him and his antics. The interaction between him, Richard Dreyfus and the Dreyfus family is truly entertaining. You will want to watch this movie over and over again year after year. I bought it for my sister and we live on two separate coasts. She called me laughing so hard she could hardly talk. Yes, it's that good.

  • Hilarious

Hilarious movie. Why don't they make movies like this anymore as a norm? Today's comedy is so low-brow and vulgar, in my opinion. Bob's a special kind of friend. The kind that drives you crazy!

  • What About Bob? (DVD, 2000)

This is a funny movie! It is classic Bill Murray as "Bob". He is a total nut case! This guy has more issues than the Encyclopedia of Psychiatry. Richard Dreyfuss is the lucky guy who becomes Bob's shrink. The problem is that Bob is a 24/7 job - One That Just Won't Go Away! Dreyfuss wrote a book "Baby Steps", and Bob sees it as his salvation, and follows Dreyfuss on vacation, and into their lives! This guy is like the "Red-Headed step-son" that you just can't get away from. He brings his problems with him like a dose of the plague, and he is just the carrier - everyone else gets sick! If he eats a banana, you slip and break your leg on the peel; if he J-walks and you throw your breaks on to avoid him, someone piles into the back of you; If he ...
