LCD worked first time but there are quality issues
The unit arrived on time with a bunch of other goodies. This board seems to be an older version of this board (v1 yet there is now v3 out there) but it works just fine on I2C address 0x3F. When inspecting the board, I instantly noticed the I2C board was soldered too closely to the LCD PCB and was ultimately angled. Next, the LCD has metal tabs that hold it together yet the I2C PCB was touching one of these tabs that risked a short. I had to fold over one of these twisted tabs to avoid issues.

Great Display but Documentation Could Be Better
The display is a standard LCD device with the addition o a serial "backpack" on the back. it works well once you find the correct drivers. The problem is the driver information is not included with this device or on the web site. Neither is the manufacture. You have to match the backpack to an image for an identical product to determine the source, the drivers required, their location, wiring details and address of the backpack. It's Ok
I ordered two of these for projects I was working on. The LCD itself is good but the I2C adapter is mounted at an angle. This is required to give necessary clearance for the screen mounting tabs commming through the PCB. On one of the units the I2C adapter didn't have enough clearance and the aforementioned screen mounting tabs was shorting two pins on the adapter board. Also these it would be nice if the I2C address was provided. Apparently there are only a few addresses for these things but I had to try a few times before I could talk to it. Other than that, once you ensure no pins shorted and you can communicate with it, it's fine.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Extremely Easy To Use

Serial or parallel. Excellent quality.

Works great
Works great. Using it with my Arduino. I2c is a lot easier to hook up than the standard LCD connection. There is a larger learning curve with the software, but it makes for a cleaner project. Set up an I2C scanner with your Arduino to see if it is connected and the scanner will give you the address. My address was 0x27. Works good, some quality issues.
Nice for the price! Added some conformal coating to seal the exposed traces around the chip on board blobs. Some bare traces were exposed on most of them and no resist covered the traces.
