Placemats ~ Tablecloth ~ Chair Pad ~ Quilt ~ Shams ~ Checkerboard Quilt ~ Curtain Coverlets ~ Comforter ~ Pillow Quilt ~ Curtains ~ Pillow ~ Lounging Mat Patterns from the traditional Attic Windows and Joseph's Coat ~ to the less known Lisa's Choice and Galaxy ~ and the contemporary Butterfly Quilt. How can a child color a quilt with crayons? A gigantic Red Hen Appliquéd Quilt? So much fun in this fab 1970's hard back book publication.. What I liked - there are many patchwork books available. So many copies of vintage designs. But this book moves into new territories - fun project! All with that 1970's influence, colors and fabrics. What I didn't like - patterns are not printed full size. You receive a scale (example 1 square = 3 inches.) With the simple designs, it should not be difficult for anyone to create their own patterns as needed. I loved this magazine. I am a quilter and I am giving my youngest daughter quilting lessons. I ran across this magazine that was published in 1977 and my daughter was born in that year. So I thought this would be great fun for us to see the quilt patterns that were offered back then. I didn't quilt til my children were grown, so I also wanted to see the patterns for myself. That's the great thing about EBay. Its like you can find good vintage stuff here. There's always something for each room of the house or for each of our hobbies. It's like a giant yard sale, but all the stuff is in great condition. I love EBay and I love quilting and they sure go together. Pamela Sims
It is amzing to read through these patterns and know that 30 years ago it was a much bigger task to make a simple quilt than it is today to make a complex pattern quilt. Like everything in our world, everything evolves and changes. The tools they used vs. the tools we use today. Two things come to my mind that remains consistent in quilting, we are addicted, and we're always looking for places to hide our "stash". Great book and great patterns I'd like to try. Thank you, Melody for giving it up.
Very cool book, '70s patterns and ideas... very fun! Still have some vintage fabric that I haven't used in years, so will use some of the patterns from this book to make quilt. Have a '70s flower-power guest room for the grandkids... they'll love it!
This old book have been fantastic! The front of the book is colorful- and the entire list of what is within is unique! Old patterns-old ideas- and new ways to use fabric!
