This is one of the best pump air rifles on the market. Excellent right out of the box. Sights are right on with very little adjustment. As a homeless veteran living in the woods this air rifle is a solid piece of well crafted design for all the crafty critters wanting to steal your food. I don't shoot to kill these little marauders, however this Benjamin Sheridan Model 397 is the air rifle that could pull that job off with no problem. I pump it to 5-7 times is plenty of power to move their little selves away from you area of stay. Very highly recommended for camping or just target practicing. Take it from an old Retired marine living on the edge this is the air rifle you will want. Gene the Marine!

I was turned on to this Air Gun from a friend, had to have one. Theres a few pellet guns out there that are good this is definitely one of them. If you can stay under $200.00 you got a deal. I personally like the wood stock, about 20 years ago Crosman came out with an Anniversary edition of the 2100 Series that had a wood stock the gun was untouchable but it never passed the Benjamin 397 it did stand toe to toe with it. If your just starting out the Crosman 2100 is an ideal starter with supervision while shooting after you move forward the next positive step is the Benjamin Sheridan 397. This is my opinion and what’s good for me might not be good for the next person but I’m in my 50’s I’ve bin shooting since I’m 10 yrs old and I stand by my words The Benjamin Sheridan 397 won’t disappoint. Happy Shooting,Read full review

To those that rants and raved about no scope mounts and no red dots compatibility.. The legend of this gun is probably older than most of its owners, today.. and way before the guy invented the red dots was born.. I have known and admired this gun since I was a kid.. nearly 50yrs ago.. It is designed and made just as it was then.. Nothing fancy other than powerful and accurate, and the simple and powerful looks of it, is what made it a Benjamin.. I'm a proud owner and would Not add nor change a thing.. otherwise, it would not be the Legendary..
