I like a movie to be educational and entertaining, and to show the warm and tender side of human life. This movie did all 3. Ernest Borgnine's portrayal of the aging farmer seemed too genuine to be acting. While I have been to city council meetings and have seen discussion over land, I really have not had much sensibility of what goes on behind the scenes in the lives of the petitioners. I feel this movie helped me gain some insight into this, as well as urban sprawl and land and tax issues. I have carefully directed myself and my children around that attractive plant called poison ivy, but have only wondered what disaster it could cause. I appreciated, and couldn't help but laugh at, the part it played in this gripping movie. I loved the role of the Native American woman in the movie. Her upbeat and helpful attitude kept the movie upbeat, and a continuous theme of hope in it. I'll be watching it again.Read full review
Great movie with Kimberly Norris Guerrero and Ernest Borgnine where are the government and Housing Development want to overtake the farm. Just like in real life.

Good story, and still a good actor...Ernest Borgnine. Story lacks a little flare, here and there.
