I had a hard time believing I should spend this much on a grinder but kept reading how important it was. I finally bought it and am very very pleased. The Baratza Vario 886 Espresso Grinder has a wide range of gind settings and comes with a suggestion chart for brew types and suggested settings. I started with the suggested espresso setting and tweaked it for my own liking. The crema I now get is excellent. I love it. I have also just started making cold brew again and that has also been tasty. I also appreciate the programmable timer that allows me to grind the exact amount needed to fill my portafliter every time. I could go on and on. I love my new grinder.

A well made machine, easy to use, and most importantly, gives uniform grinds from espresso to French press. So uniform is the grind that I can do siphon with a glass rod filter without a stall in the draw-down.
