I'm a luddite, I don't need no stinking smart phone. That said, I've had a v325i since 2008 and it has become long in the tooth (does not respond well to key press). So I searched the web for v325i and found this seller. The phone arrived in the expected time with a compatible charger (v325i requires Motorola specific charger or it will say "unauthorized."). The padded envelop was abused by USPS but the extra bubble wrap around the phone prevented any damage. (See the uploaded pictures. My old v325i is on the right. The pictures were taken just in case the new phone was damaged by USPS.) I powered the phone on and went through all the settings. All former customer data was removed by the seller (or previous owner) except the phone number. That is important as the last 4 digits of the phone number is the security code needed to make any changes to the phone and serves at the "lock code" to unlock the phone if you choose to require the code to unlock the phone on power up. The page "ebay Verizon-Activation-Guide-for-Replacement-Cell-Phones" was some help in guiding me through the process to activate the new v325i but is not complete. The Verizon website activation did not accept the HEX ESN displayed on the phone's "system - Device Info - Other Information - ESN." I had to remove the battery and use the DEC ESN on the label beneath the battery. I abandoned the web-site activation when it did not offer a way to transfer contacts from my old phone (Backup Assistant had been set up on the old phone years ago and had been configured to backup contacts overnight) to the new v325i. The Verizon website has long ago abandoned "Backup Assistant" used to backup and restore contacts on anything predating smart phones. I have Motorola Phone Tools (MPT) and was able to transfer my contacts to the new phone. Motorola Phone tools did not transfer my customized ring tones as the V325i was crippled by Verizon on purpose to prevent obtaining ring tones except by purchasing them through their website. I had used p2kseem to seem edit my original v325i and bitpim to load the ring tones. I've delayed in retiring my old v325i until I can dig up my notes when I seem edited my old v325i. I tested the new v325i by calling my local Police department non-emergency contact number to let them know that I'd like to test 911 on a new phone. With their consent, I dialed 911 on the non-activated v325i and was connected to the local 911 operation center. I explained that this is a non-emergency call and that I had talked to Josh before dialing 911. I am confident that when I get around to retiring my old v325i, today, tomorrow, or next month, the new one will function without a problem.Read full review
Verified purchase: Yes | Condition: Refurbished
This is a nice camera at an affordable price. The key pad lights up well and in color so it is easier to see at dusk it has a vivid color screen which is clear and easy on the eyes. Set up is a snap and fast activation. Camera resolution could be better. Bluetooth is great
I have recently put a listing up to sell my old V325 after getting a new phone. I've had the V325 since 2006 and it served me well. It was my first digital phone. While it was not as versatile as many of the new digital cell phones out today, I must say I was quite impressed with it. It gives you the ability to send pic and text messages. You can access the web with the "Get It Now" Verizon feature. You can also take pictures with its VGA camera which has a 4X zoom and three resolution types - 640x480, 240x320, and 120x160. The phone offers clip art options as well as cropping and adding text to images. Beware! The phone will overwrite the original image unless you specify a new filename. It has great speakers. I could keep the phone on its loudest volume bar and hear a phone call come in while I was upstairs. The screen is smaller, but it offers a crisp picture. I like how the keypad lights up with a soft blue light. The keys themselves aren't as small as newer phones which I like. I might not be an old fogey, but I don't like having to carefully pick my way across the keys to avoid mistakes. The only grudge I had with the phone was its battery. I didn't even own the phone for a year before the battery when kaput. I bought a new one for $35 and the phone has worked great ever since. I've heard it was a big flaw with the V325s. However, if you need a phone that has hardly any frills and serves its function as a cell phone, first and foremost, the V325 is a great phone. It's an added bonus to check e-mail and download ringtones and take pictures.Read full review
Motorola V325 provides customers with maps of their current location and written and spoken instructions to direct them to any address in the U.S. Featuring a chic brushed metal and soft touch finish, the V325 boasts an integrated VGA camera with self-portrait and color effects, high-resolution color display, and outstanding call performance. Perfect for road warriors who are constantly on-the-go, the V325 is the only device that currently offers VZ Navigator. Having the ability to find over 14 million points of interest, V325 users will never have to pull over and ask for directions again.
Excellent voice clarity, better than average speaker phone, better than average signal strength, decent size number buttons and display, O.K. for texting. I had the v325i for 4+ years and I decided to find me another phone just like it. The only problem with the old phone was that it would not stay open anymore (on its own) since the flip spring/mechanism broke. For those of you that like lots of bells and whistles this phone is not it. However, for those people that just want to make a phone call with good connectivity and excellent voice clarity this is an great phone. Too bad it has been discontinued.
